Wright State Targets Group With its New Baseline Buffer

Nutter Center, Home of Wright State University

(from Sports Business Journal, December 3-9) Wright State Officials approved the plan to develop a banquet-style hospitality space along the north baseline of the Nutter Center. The Raider Party Deck can accommodate 120 people and is available for single-game group sales.

For the cost of $650 a game, Ovations Food Services will provide you a food and beverage service during the game. Wright State Associate Athletic Director, Mark Gazdik, stated, ‘This year we were talking about different options for hospitality and saw an opportunity to give a different experience for groups. It’s innovative and puts them close to the actions.” He also went on to state renovation was completed with cutting any benefits to donors. To cater to the donors of Wright State, 3 of the 10 tables available and reserved for the Raider Club Donors.

The Raider Party Deck sits 6 feet above event level, along the north side baseline. Currently, the part deck accommodates up to 10 tables, and 10 cushioned folding chairs at each table. However, President of Get Real Sport Sales, Jake Vernon, stated the deck could hold up to 120 people, but if necessary, more tables could be set up in addition to selling the standing-room only tickets. This idea was tested during the last game of the season last year when Wright State provided donors with a buffet meal before their seats were upgraded.

The Raider Club Party Deck opened November 16th against North Carolina A&T. The party deck has already attracted fans that were in attendance and Wright State has begun developing signs with information on purchasing the Raider Club Party Deck space for future outings. As of now, Wright State has sold 8 of the 14 up-coming games this season. The renovation has had signs of potential success and Wright State hopes to continue this success.
